Anambra 2021: PDP candidate, Valentine Ozigbo congratulates Soludo
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate in the Anambra State Governorship Election on Saturday, November 6, Valentine Ozigbo, conceding defeat, congratulated Professor Chukwuma Soludo of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) on his victory in the election. the PDP candidate called Soludo on the telephone to congratulate for winning the election in Anambra State.
Ozigbo, in a statement, disclosed: “I have just called Professor Chukwuma Soludo and congratulated him on being declared the winner of the Anambra State governorship elections, 2021. I wished him well and prayed for his success.”
Prof. Soludo got the highest number of valid votes of 112,229 to defeat Valentine Ozigbo of the PDP, who had 53,807 votes; then, others, Andy Uba of the All Progressives Congress APC who had 43,285 votes, Ifeanyi Ubah of the Young Progressive Party who had 21,261 votes.
Soludo won in 19 of the 21 local government areas of Anambra State while the PDP and YPP candidates won in one local government each.
The Chief Returning officer for the Anambra Governorship Election, Vice Chancellor of the University of Clabar, Professor Florence Obi, had early morning of Wednesday declared Professor Charles Chukwuma Soludo winner of the election after the supplementary election in Ihiala on Tuesday.
