Anti-kidnapping vigilante hero killed in Kogi forest, buried in Nasarawa
Alhassan Alhassan had reputation in Kogi as a community defender, though his home state is Nasarawa where he has been taken to, helpless.
He was shot and killed by bandits he and his vigilante group had been waging war against Gegu Beki LGA forest.
The last operation he led was against kidnappers in Auho and Tanahu September 14. They ran into an ambush by the terrorists, and in the raging shootout, Alhassan took a hit.
He died within hours.
His corpse was carried to his home own Toto in Nasarawa, and buried.
His death is a loss to many in the area, considering the chains of anti-kidnaping ops he conducted successfully.
