Anxiety mounts as reports of Oba Aromolaran’s death circulate
Concerns are growing among residents of Osun State following reports of the death of OBA
While there has been no official confirmation from the state government or the palace, the news has sparked widespread anxiety and sadness.
A statement attributed to the monarch’s son, Prince Aromolaran, expressed condolences to the royal family and the people of Ijesha land.
“On behalf of my wife, Titi, I share my condolences with the Owa-in-Council and the entire indigenes and residents of Ijesha land, especially members of the royal family,” he said. “As Oba Aromolaran turns his face to his maker, I pray that his soul finds a gentle repose.”

Sources close to the palace have confirmed that the Oba has been in ill health, but further details regarding his condition remain unclear. As of now, there is no official statement confirming his death.
Oba Aromolaran, in his 80s, has ruled Ijesha land, for 42 years.
His passing would mark a significant loss for the community and the entire state.
