APC crisis: Gov Bello consolidates, issues notice of NEC meeting
Governor Abubakar Sani Bello of Niger State is moving fast to consolidate his new position as the acting National Chairman of the Caretaker/Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee (CECPC) of the ruling All Progressives Party (APC). The Niger governor, assuming office at the APC national secretariat in Abuja, issued notice of meeting of the National Executive Committee (NEC) to ratify the organ of the APC. Bello had also received the report of the zoning committee on Monday. He further inaugurated the 36 state chairmen of the party amidst the pandemonium in Abuja.
Governor Bello also reduced the number of the sub-committees appointed by the ousted Governor Mai Mala Buni for the national convention.
Buni had abandoned most of these duties and traveled to Dubai. There were insinuations that the ousted national chairman may return to Nigeria on Tuesday.
