APC Governors hold emergency meeting on Oshiomhole

Governors on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) at the weekend held an emergency meeting on the recent manipulation of the nomination process of governorship candidate of the party for the Edo State election in which the Edo Governor was illegally disqualified from participating in the primary election of the party by the political squad of the APC national chairman, Adams Oshiomhole.

The APC governors in a statement by chairman of the Progressives Governors Forum, Abubakar Atiku Bagudu, Governor of Kebbi State, at the end of the emergency teleconference meeting on Saturday, reached a consensus to work together for the resolution of all crisis in the party, also the join forces to strengthen fair and democratic internal party mechanism in the nomination of party candidates for all elections.

The statement read: “The Progressive Governors held an emergency teleconference meeting on Saturday, and resolved as follows:

“Unanimously reaffirmed the commitment of all Progressive Governors to work for the unity of our party;

“Collectively agreed to work to ensure strengthening fair and democratic internal party mechanism for the selection of party candidates in all elections, especially in respect of Edo and Ondo States 2020 Governorship elections.

“Forum members are confident that the party will resolve all current challenges and emerge stronger emerge stronger”.
