Armed victim of ‘one chance’ lynched; mob ensures he burns to ashes
A man who robbed a tricycle passengers and fled into an erosion site fell into the hand of locals who eventually meted out justice.
Chgozie Omaliko had been robbing such passengers along the Awka-Onitsha road, and he robbed a female passenger of all her money on Thursday
But when the community queried him for being a stranger there, he lied, according to locals.
He told them he was a victim of “one chance”, and on searching him, the locals found a locally made revolver.
Omaliko, who in a video before they lynched him said he came from Umudum, Abatete, Idemili North LGA, could not explain how the firearm got there
The crowd beat him down, and set him ablaze, waiting until the suspect nearly burnt to ashes.
Nigeria’s police authorities have been warning citizens against jungle justice, which is now rampant across the nation.
