Bandits ambush troops, kill army personnel in Zamfara
Bandits intensified their activities, ambushing troops of the terrorists Nigerian Army, and killing some military personnel in Zamfara State.
The troops were said to be responding to distress calls from residents during a terrorist attack on Malele community in Mutumji district of Maru Local Government Area, on Sunday, when they were ambushed by the bandits.
The troops were said to have fought gallantly to repel the ambush, engaged the bandits in fierce exchange of gun fire, killing some of the bandits, while some soldiers died also.
The bandits were said to have burnt three gun-trucks of the troops in the attack.
Bandits from several camps in Zamfara, Katsina, Niger and Kaduna states were said to have gathered to attack Malele, Ruwan Tofa, Zaman Lafiya and other communities in Dansadau Emirate for refusing to negotiate with the bandits.
