BREAKING: Again, APC govs reduce 5-man aspirants list, submit fresh one; Adamu keeps mum
With their second reduction of the earlier aspirant shortlist, The APC governors have apparently taken over the ruling party’s NWC committee as the party’s presidential primary careens on in Abuja.
The new list of aspirants te northern governors proposed to President Muhammadu Buhari now carries three aspirants, compared to the five-man list they submitted early Tuesday.
Chairman Abdullahi Adamu wanted to bring Sen. President Lawan in through the back door as party consensus, but the northern governors stood against him, and asked Lawan to withdraw. He has since lain low.
The current governors list now include APC leader Bola Tinubu, V.P Yemi Osinbajo, and Rotimi Amaechi.
Ekiti Gov Kayode Fayemi and Ebonyi’s Dave Umahi have been erased off the list.
However, other aspirants, particularly Kayode Fayemi and Yahaya Bello, are kicking, saying that they are still in the race.
Others on the longlist have also protested.
