National Daily has previously reported that Barcelona’s hierarchy had late last night made a last minute attempt to retain Lionel Messi at Camp Nou.
Obviously, Barca’s hope of keeping their former captain is believed to have been dashed going by the latest report reaching National Daily which suggests that the 34-year-old Argentina captain has just agreed a two-year deal to join Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint-Germain.
The report further revealed that the former Barcelona captain has agreed to don the jersey No. 30 after it was earlier reported that Messi had previously rejected Neymar’s offer of jersey No. 10.

Though No. 30 is believed to be generally reserved for goalkeepers in Ligue 1, but National Daily understands that Messi will receive special dispensation to wear the number which is also believed to be iconic to him being the number he wore on his Barcelona’s debut season.
Messi who received a standing ovation from the Barca players, legends, coaches and board members in attendance during his emotional press conference on Sunday confirmed his imminent departure from Camp Nou after unbelievable 21 years of illustrious football career with the Catalan giants.
National Daily can confirm from the report emanating from L’Equipe that shortly after midday on Tuesday, Messi had reached a full agreement with PSG on a two-year deal – with the option for a third – in what is one of the most lucrative contracts in world football.
It was further reported that Messi has been at his Catalunya home in Barcelona prior to the latest striking of the deal with PSG, but as soon as the deal was struck several cars were sighted leaving his house and making their way to Barcelona’s El Prat airport, with the six-time Ballon d’Or Award winner now en route to Paris to be officially unveiled.
