Buhari casts his vote
President Muhammadu Buhari arrived the polling unit Daura, Katsina State on Saturday at about 8,02am to cast his vote in the Presidential and National Assembly elections. Buhari, the Presidential candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the Saturday elections was optimistic of victory in the election for a second term.
President Buhari arriving the polling unit, first identified his name in the voters register, then, got accreditation before casting his vote at 8.08am. The President went to the polling unit with his wife, Aisha Buhari, security aides and some staff. Aisha also cast her vote after the president had voted.
President Buhari expressed that the process was peaceful. He commended the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on the peaceful conduct of the elections, noting that process is so far good.
The President in a media interaction on what will be response to the outcome of the election, his reaction to the winner of the presidential election, said: “I will congratulate myself,” expressing optimism that he will win the election.
