Campaign Flag-off – Our chioce of Jos ‘ll give us victory – APC
By Kingsley Chukwuka
Most Presidents that have ruled the country have had their campaign flag-off in Jos, these historical facts have informed our decision for choosing Jos, as our venue for the campaign flag-off for Tinubu/Shettima presidential bid, Chairman of the Local Organising Committee, Hon Ahmed Idris Wase has said.
Wase who is the Deputy Speaker, Federal House of Representatives, said the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC), will not be wrong to repeat history even though this will be the first time the APC will be hosting its presidential campaign flag-off in Jos.
While declaring its readiness to host the campaign take-off on Tuesday November 15, 2022, Wase said he will plead with the Plateau State Governor, Simon Lalong to declare Tuesday a public holiday.
Wase stated this on Friday in Jos while briefing Journalists on the update for the event which is expected to bring the APC big wings to the State.
According to him: “We are pleased to report to you and indeed Nigerians that the campaign is ready to move. By the grace of God, we are flagging off the campaign Tuesday.
“All arrangements have been made to have a very successful flag-off of the campaign”, he said.
Wase added that security arrangements have also been put in place to ensure a successful event.
It would be recalled that last Sunday, Governor Lalong who is the Campaign Director General of the Tinubu/Shittima 2023 presidential election inaugurated a 40 man committee that will organise the campaign take-off for the party in the State.
Lalong had charged the committee to take advantage of the Media for robust publicity.
Lalong had said both the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), and the Labour Party, do not exist in the country except for the fact that they have taken advantage of the Media to gain publicity.
