CAN calls on FG to arrest clerics demanding Islamic state in Taraba
The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) has condemned viral video where Muslim clerics are demanding Islamic government in Taraba State. The Taraba CAN chapter, therefore, urged the federal government and security agencies to arrest and prosecute the clerics identified in the video that has gone viral who are advocating sharia law in Taraba State.
The TEKAN ECWA Church Blog of CAN berated people involved the video clip who are calling for Sharia government in Taraba State after the emergence of a Christian governorship candidate in the All Progressives Congress at the state primary.
CAN at a press conference in Jalingo, chided the actors in the video clip, accusing them of incisive utterances capable of destabilizing the state. The Christian leaders, therefore, called on the federal government and security operatives to promptly put in place mechanisms that would halt the outbreak of religious violence in Taraba State.
CAN appealed to residents of Taraba State to remain calm and continue live as brothers by tolerating one another irrespective of religious differences.
