Casualties as Russia bombs multi-storey shopping mall, car lot
A shopping center and cars in an adjacent parking lot caught fire as Russia bombarded Kyiv’s Podilskyi district.
The Ukraine State Emergency Service said this late Sunday, adding atotal of 63 firefighters and 11 units worked to extinguish the flames that had reached as high as the third and fourth floors of the shopping center.
The mayor of Kyiv, as well as the city’s police, posted images of explosions in the Podilskyi district in Ukraine’s capital on Telegram Sunday.
One person was killed following the explosions, Mayor Vitali Klitschko said.
Friday, two Russian fighter jets dropped bombs on a Ukrainian military base, killing close to 200 military men, scoring the conflict’s most fatal attack on Ukriane
The US and other western security analysts have insisted Ukraine still holds its skies, preventing Russia from operating aerially.
