Cleric, 14 other murderers of vigilante Usman, alleged blasphemer in FCT, arrested
The FCT police command has arrested 15 suspects in connection with the murder of a vigilante service man, Ahmad Usman, in the Lugbe area June 4.
The police said in a statement, that the arrest of the suspects followed investigation into the killing of the 30-year-old.
The Islamic cleric who allegedly incited a mob that killed the security guard for alleged blasphemy against Prophet Mohammed at the Tipper Garage, Lugbe, Abuja, was one of those arrested.
Commissioner of Police, FCT Command, CP Babaji Sunday who vowed that killers would be brought to justice, directed that Malam Lawan and others be transferred to the Criminal Investigation Department (CID.
Usman’s death followed tat of Deborah Samuel, a student in Sokoto, who allegedly blasphemed.
Like Usman, she was stoned to death, and burned .
