Collasped Church: Gunmen shot lawyer in Uyo
The counsel to the founder of the collapsed church building, Apostle Akan Weeks, of Reigners’ Bible Church in Uyo, Ini Ekpo, has been shot by unknown gunmen.
National Daily gathered that the lawyer was shot on Thursday morning by unidentified gunmen at his resident in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.
The assailant were said to have gained entrance into his compound through the main gate about 2:27am and swiftly moved to his room where they shot him twice on his two legs.
After shooting him, they made away with four laptops, a family source disclosed saying that he was accused to have fabricated the lies Weeks told the commission.
Fortunately, Ekpo survived the attack but was later rushed to a hospital where he is currently recuperating.
The attack which was confirmed by the state chairman, Nigerian Bar Association, Mr. Aniekan Akpan, said Ekpo was shot last night around 2am on his two legs.
National Daily learnt that the case has been reported to the police who have taken over the investigation of the matter.
