Commander loses seat as Nigerian military struggles to suppress news of NAF sergeant suspected of aiding bandits’ attack on NDA
The Defence Headquarters has ordered the NAF Base Support Group Commander in Yola to vacate his seat after the leak of an intelligence report on Torsabo Solomom, a NAF sergeant arrested for helping bandits hit the Nigerian Defence Academy in August.
The media spins on the report are rocking the Nigeria military currently.
“I can confirm to you that media reports of the development cost the BSG his seat. He has been posted to Abuja,” a report by the Daily Post stated.
“The DHQ is angry that a secret movement was exposed. The INTREP and photos were released by a soldier.
“He is an intelligence officer; I do not think his intention was to leak. The person(s) he sent the information to was probably careless”, the source told the newspaper.
The effort of the NDA spokesman Bashir Jajira to discredit report is failing as sources keep confirming Solomon was complicit in the August attack on the military training institution in Kaduna, and investigators are working on him.
The National Daily report how Jajira, a major, urged Nigerian Tuesday morning to disregard the news of Solomon arrest and detention Monday night at the Army Training Regiment in Kaduna.
