Confusion over failure of Ibadan-Lagos bound train
There has been confusion over the sudden stoppage of Lagos-bound train from Ibadan on the Ibadan-Lagos corridor. Passengers were stranded after the train failed.
The Nigerian Railway Corporation had in a statement on Friday disputed insinuations that the train had shortage of fuel and could not proceed with the journey. The corporation attributed the stoppage technical fault on the fueling system.
The corporation maintained that the train had sufficient fuel in the tank for convenience and timely shuttle from Ibadan to Lagos, the corporation explained that for proactive action, the operators were in search of fuel, thinking that the locomotive was stopped by shortage of fuel.
The corporation apologized to the passengers onboard at the time of the disruption for the delay that resulted into an extension of the journey time schedule.
The corporation appealed to passengers to maintain their confidence in the railway system, expressing appreciation for the feedback from the users of the railway system.
