Corps Entrepreneurs Benefit From Youth Export Initiative

Nine Corps Members have benefitted from Youth for Export Programme as they received 900 dollars as participants in the Nigerian Export Trade House China-Far East. This was contained in a statement signed by Eddy Megwa fnipr, Director, Press and Public Relations.

The presentation was made by Zeenab Foods Limited today in Abuja at the launching of Youth For Export Programme (YEP), an initiative of the Nigerian Export Promotion Council to promote youth inclusiveness in non-oil export.

In his goodwill message at the launch, the Director General of National Youth Service Corps, Brigadier General YD Ahmed affirmed the Scheme’s readiness to sustain robust collaborations with relevant stakeholders for technical and funding support to Corps enterprenuers.

He said the Scheme’s Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development programme will continue to leverage on any initiative towards the empowerment of Corps Members.

While appreciating the collaboration with NEPC and Zeenab Foods for recognising NYSC as a key stakeholders in the Youth Export Trade, the DG assured them of more enabling environment for Corps Members’ empowerment.

“It is our firm belief that in providing training, mentoring and networking opportunities for the youths as envisioned in the YEP initiative, they will be active drivers of our economic growth and especially, play roles in boosting our foreign exchange earnings.” he declared.

Earlier in his address, the Executive Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian Export Promotion Council, Dr Ezra Yakusak disclosed that the YEP initiative was launched to address key constraints that hinder active youth participation in non-oil exports.

“The programme is designed to empower young Nigerians by providing them with necessary skills and knowledge to engage in export activities.” he stated.

Highpoint of the launch was the presentation of three cheques of $300 each to three sets of Corps beneficiaries by a representative of Zeenab Foods Limited.

A new Nigerian Exporters Hub, tagged; “NEXHUB”was unveiled at the occasion to serve as a dynamic electronic and digital platform that connects exporters and importers.
