COVID-19: Gov. Lalong begins fumigation, locks down State for 7 days

Governor Simon Lalong of Plateau State, has said the State is commencing a fumigation exercise which will run through the entire 17 Local Government Area of the State.
The exercise which will commence on Thursday 9th April, to 15th April 2020, will also inconvenience activities in the entire State as government has announced a total lockdown of activities within this period.
The Governor disclosed this on Monday in Jos, during a press briefing with Journalists.
According to him: Government has concluded plans to carry out a State-wide fumigation exercise which will cover Jos-Bukuru metropolis and all the 17 Local Government Areas of the State.
“To this effect, I am directing a total lockdown, effective 12 midnight of Thursday 9th April 2020 to 11pm of Wednesday 15th April 2020.
During this period, there will be no movement of any kind except for staff on essential duties, such as Security Agencies, Medical and Health workers, Power and Energy Staff, Fire Service, Media, Telecom operators and Fuel Tankers”, Lalong said.
