Death toll scales down to 125 in football stadium stampede
Indonesia authorities on Sunday confirmed the death toll from a riot in a football stadium that resulted into a stampede has slowed down to 125, noting incident of double counting.

East Java deputy governor Emil Dardak, citing data collected by local police from 10 hospitals, stated: “Today, the death toll is 125. 124 have been identified and one has not. Some names were recorded twice because they had been referred to another hospital and were written down again.”
The stampeded occurred on Saturday night in Malang, causing injuries for 180 victims.
Supporters of Arema FC were said to have invaded the Kanjuruhan stadium after their team lost 3-2 to the visiting team and bitter rivals, Persebaya Surabaya.
