Delta killer cop dismissed, arraigned for murder
The Delta State Police Command has announced the dismissal of Inspector Ubi Ebri who allegedly shot dead one Onyeka Ibe at a checkpoint on April 5, 2023.
Inspector Ebri attached to the area command patrol team while on a Stop-and-search duty on the Ugbolu-Illah Road on April 5, allegedly pulled the trigger on Ibe and killed him instantly.
He was arraigned before an Asaba Magistrate’s Court for murder trial on Wednesday.
The court ordered that the suspect be remanded at the Ogwashi-Uku Correctional Centre and that the case file be sent to the Director of Public Prosecutions for legal advice and prosecution.
