Delta mourns as Sen. Patrick Osakwe dies at 74
Delta State has been thrown into mourning after the demise Senator Patrick Osakwe who represented Delta North senatorial district in the National Assembly for 12 years in the early stage of the current democracy in Nigeria.
Senator Osakwe was said to have died at a London hospital on Tuesday night. He was aged 74 years.
The demised Osakwe was a native of Ugili-Amai in Ndokwa-West Local Government Area, Delta State. He was in the Senate representing Delta North Senatorial District from 1999 to 2011.
The late Senator served in several committees which include Senate Committees on Gas, Banking, Insurance and Other Financial Institutions; Appropriation; Niger Delta and Senate Services.
