Disgraced Ghanaian Chef, Ebenezer Smith, breaks silence over his counterfeit Guinness World Record (GWR) certificate
At a press conference in Accra on Tuesday, Chef Smith claimed to be the current GWR holder for the longest individual cooking marathon, with a remarkable duration of 802 hours and 25 minutes.
However, verification with GWR revealed that the certificate presented by Chef Smith at the press conference does not originate from GWR.

GWR clarified, “The current and true current record holder is: The longest cooking marathon (individual) is 119 hr 57 min 16 sec and was achieved by Alan Fisher (Ireland) in Matsue, Shimane, Japan, from 28 September to 3 October 2023.”
In a video making waves on social media, a tearful Chef Smith was seen on his knees, with two emotional women by his side, as he offered a heartfelt apology to the nation, expressing deep remorse for the events that transpired.
