Downpour submerges Lagos, takes lives across state
The fallout of rainfall bucketing down on Lagos since Thursday is now apparent all over the most populated city in Nigeria.
Apart from accident on waterways and floods sweeping a Lexus and a Toyota away, killing all but one occupant, there are incidents of communities now submerged.
Some of the affected communities include Ikorodu, Yaba, Ago, Amuwo, Ikeja, Agege, Festac and some other areas in the state.
Many of these areas have always experienced flooding, which result from structures obstructing flood lains and erosion channels, refuse dumping in urban drainage systems.
