Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle reveals she is 43% Nigerian
The Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle, has revealed that she is 43% Nigerian, after she had a genealogy test done years ago.
She made this revelation during the latest episode of her podcast, Archetypes, on Tuesday.
“I just had my genealogy done a couple of years ago”, Markle revealed to her guest Ziwe Fumudoh, a Nigerian-American comedian, writer and actress.
“What, what are you?”, Ziwe asked.
“43% Nigerian”, the Duchess responded.
Exclaiming, Ziwe shouted, “No way!, Oh my gosh! Are you really serious? This is huge. Igbo? Yoruba?, do we know?”
“I mean I am going to start to dig deeper into any of this because anyone I’ve told, especially Nigerian women are just like Whaaaaaaaaatttt!!!”, Markle replied.
“This is huge for our community, no honestly, you do look like a Nigerian, you look like my aunt, Uzo”, Ziwe added.
