Edo guber polls: Media accreditation to close by midnight today—INEC
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has reminded media organizations that the accreditation portal for the Edo State Governorship Election will close on Thursday, September 5, 2024, at midnight.
In a statement by Sam Olumekun, National Commissioner and Chairman of the Information and Voter Education Committee, so far, 113 media organizations have registered 865 journalists to cover the election.

INEC emphasized that the deadline is final, and no extensions will be granted. Media organizations that fail to secure accreditation will not be permitted to observe voting or the collation of results.
Sam Olumekun reiterated the importance of adhering to the deadline.
