Ekiti lawmakers to travel to Canada for leadership retreat
Members of the Ekiti State House of Assembly are preparing to travel to Ontario, Canada, for a leadership retreat focused on executive and legislative collaboration.
A letter that was signed by Titilope Agbede, the Clerk for the Ekiti State House of Assembly, has outlined the details and objectives of an upcoming trip. This journey is planned to take place in November 2024. The primary aim of this trip is to enhance the skills of the legislators as they work to understand and manage the complexities that often come with developing and implementing effective policies. Additionally, the trip includes an important opportunity for the legislators to connect and interact with members of the Ekiti Kete Association, which is based in Canada. This engagement with the association is expected to foster better relationships and promote cooperation between the legislators and the Ekiti community living in Canada.

The letter written on October 18, 2024, was sent to Barrister Adesina, who holds the position of President of Ekiti Kete Canada. In this letter, it was made clear that the purpose of the upcoming retreat is to provide the legislators with the essential knowledge and skills they need. This training will help them effectively handle the various challenges that come with implementing policies.
The letter goes on to provide important details regarding the participants. It states that members of the Ekiti State House of Assembly, along with officials who will be led by the Right Honourable Speaker, Honourable Adeoye Stephen Aribasoye, are set to attend this Executive Legislative Leadership Retreat. This significant event is scheduled to take place in November 2024, and it will be held in Brampton, Ontario, Canada. The retreat is expected to be an important opportunity for the legislators to enhance their understanding and capabilities in leadership and policy execution.
