Fani-Kayode commends absence of Obasanjo, IBB, Jonathan, from Buhari’s inauguration
A former minister, Femi Fani Kayode, on Wednesday commended former Nigerian Presidents and Heads of State for staying away from the inauguration of President Muhammadu Buhari on May 29 in Abuja. Virtually all former Nigerian leaders were absent from the swearing in of President Buhari for a second tenure except former Head of State, retired General Yakubu Gowon.
Former Nigerian leaders absent at the inauguration include Dr. Olusegun Obasanjo, retired General Ibrahim Badamosi Babangida, former Head of State Abdulsalami Abubakar, Chief Ernest Shonekan, and Dr. Goodluck Jonathan. National Daily could not, however, ascertain the reason(s) for their absence from the inauguration of President Buhari for second tenure. Former Head of State, Yakubu Gowon was left in solitary at the inauguration and the celebration dinner later in Abuja.

Femi Fani-Kayode in a tweet declared: “I commend the courage and fortitude of OBJ and @GEJonathan for NOT attending the fraudulent inauguration ceremony that took place in Abuja this morning when a liar, a pretender, an imposter, an election-rigger and an electoral thief was purportedly sworn in as our President.
“The thief was so ashamed of himself that he could not even muster the courage to say “thank you” or offer a speech after being “sworn in”.
“Instead, he put his tail between his legs and crawled back to hide in his Villa- fortress without saying a word to anyone. Shame on him!”
