Finally, Lagos arraigns businessman IVD for allegedly killing his wife, Abimbola
The Lagos State Government on Monday, March 20, arraigned embattled auto dealer, Ikechukwu Ogbonna better known as IVD, before an Ikeja High Court over alleged involuntary manslaughter of his wife Abimbola.
The 37-year-old defendant was arraigned on one count of involuntary manslaughter in suit No LD/21055C/23. He, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.
It would be recalled that IVD and Abimbola were married for 16 years with the union blessed with five children. The marriage, however, was filled with disagreement and alleged domestic violence.
On October 12, 2022, there was a fìre incident at their Lekki home as Abimbola was caught in the inferno. She was rushed to a hospital where she died on October 12, as a result of the injuries she sustained.
The prosecuting counsel, Adeshola Bello, said the alleged offence committed contravened Section 229 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
