“Former Governor Yari may dump APC”
Alhaji Aminu Danbuba, a close associate of former Zamfara state Governor Abdulaziz Yari, has revealed that Yari may soon dump the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, for the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, if he does not win the party’s national chairmanship.
Speaking to reporters in Gusau, the state capital, the politician stated that he would not be surprised if former Governor Abdulaziz Yari abandons the APC.
Former Governor Yari, he claims, has not made his intentions known to his supporters, but there is every indication that he does.
“He is our political leader, and whichever party he decamps to, we must follow him,” he added.
The politician said that the former Governor already has an issue to settle with the national headquarters of the party over imposition of leadership in the State’s chapter of the party.
He noted that the former Governor would not want to accept defeat over his faction’s loss at the Federal High Court sitting in Gusau, the State capital.
However, Danbuba commended the courage of former Governor Yari for going to court, pointing out that he did that to defend democracy in the State.
Danbuba said that if everyone kept quiet over the issue of democracy, the system would not strive in country.
