Former US President, Bill Clinton, 75, lands in hospital
Former President Bill Clinton of the United States, 75 years old, has gone on admission in a hospital for ailment relating to an infection.
US Doctors said Clinton was responding well at the center in Irvine, California. The doctors said that the infection was not caused by coronavirus.
The spokesman of Clinton, Angel Urena, had written on Twitter: “On Tuesday evening, President Clinton was admitted to UCI Medical Center to receive treatment for a non-Covid-related infection.
“He is on the mend, in good spirits, and is incredibly thankful to the doctors, nurses and staff providing him with excellent care.”
Doctors at the University of California Irvine Medical Center confirmed Clinton had been admitted.
Urena tweeted a statement from Clinton’s doctors at the hospital, Dr Alpesh Amin and Dr Lisa Bardack, which read: “President Clinton was taken to UC Irvine Medical Center and diagnosed with an infection.
“He was admitted to the hospital for close monitoring and administered IV (intravenous) antibiotics and fluids.
“He remains at the hospital for continuous monitoring. After two days of treatment, his white blood cell count is trending down, and he is responding to antibiotics well.
“We hope to have him go home soon.”
