Fresh tension as Russian Tu-95 carriers fly over Barents Sea accompanied by foreign fighters
There is emerging fresh tension as two Russian Tu-95MS strategic missile carriers made planned flight over the neutral waters of the Barents Sea, part of the way they were accompanied by foreign fighters.
The Russian Defence Ministry, in a statement on Tuesday, highlighted: “Two Tu-95MS strategic missile carriers of the Russian Aerospace Forces’ long-range aviation carried out a planned flight in the airspace over the neutral waters of the Barents Sea.
“The flight lasted more than four hours. Fighter escort was provided by the crews of Su-33 aircraft of the Russian Navy.
“At certain stages of the route, the strategic missile carriers were accompanied by fighters of foreign countries.’’ (RIA/NAN)
