FRSC trains officers on diligent intelligence, processing for effective national security
The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), the Ogun State Command, has commenced training of 29 operatives of the corps on diligent intelligence gathering, processing and sharing of information for effective national security.
The Sector Commander, Ahmed Umar, at the workshop in Abeokuta on Friday, explained that the essence of the workshop is to strengthen the proficiency of the intelligence operatives in this period of insecurity crisis in the country.
Umar disclosed that the training would address the challenges faced by the unit in reporting and correcting abnormalities noticed in line of operation across the state. He said that they are being trained on how to improve the collaboration with other security agencies. He commended sister security agencies in the state for continuous collaboration towards ensuring safety and protection of lives of the residents both on the roads and at homes.
The Sector Commander stated: “Intelligence is all about information; the information they have they share with other agencies, it may be related to traffic or not.
“The training has to do with reporting, receiving very good and critical information and if you don’t evaluate it and pass it on, it becomes irrelevant.
“We collaborate with them in so many areas, we occasionally organise a joint special operation, where they give us support.”
He encouraged the participants to learn from the training so as to continue to exhibit utmost professionalism and integrity in the discharge of their duties.
