Galatasaray in desperate bid to retain Osimhen amid intense premier league interest
Turkish giants Galatasaray have made it clear they intend to keep Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen beyond this season, despite mounting interest from top Premier League sides and elite clubs across Europe.
Osimhen, currently on a season-long loan from Napoli, has become a hot property on the transfer market, with Manchester United, Liverpool, Arsenal, and Chelsea all reportedly placing the prolific forward high on their summer wish lists.
However, Galatasaray’s latest stance could complicate any Premier League move.
The 26-year-old’s relationship with Napoli soured last summer, prompting his temporary switch to Istanbul, where he has rediscovered form and forged a strong bond with fans.
Speaking to Turkish outlet NTV, Osimhen acknowledged the growing speculation around his future but remained focused on the present.
“Galatasaray will always be in my heart,” he said. “There are always rumours about me, I think about the present. I am enjoying this moment; the fans always support me. At the right time, the best decision for everyone will be made.”
While many took his statement as a veiled farewell to Galatasaray, the club’s hierarchy has stepped forward to dismiss that notion.
Club vice-president Ibrahim Hatipoglu, in an interview with Spanish publication AS, insisted Osimhen’s comments were misinterpreted.

“His words don’t mean he’s leaving,” Hatipoglu said. “He said that even if he left in the worst-case scenario, Galatasaray would always be in his heart. But he didn’t say he’s leaving. We want him to stay with us.”
Galatasaray are reportedly prepared to meet the financial demands required to keep the striker, with Osimhen’s release clause at Napoli now lowered to €75 million (approximately £65 million), making the move more feasible for interested suitors.
Meanwhile, interest in Osimhen is growing beyond the Premier League. Spanish giants Barcelona and Italian powerhouse Juventus are also said to have entered the race, with both clubs viewing the Nigerian international as a key target for the summer transfer window.
Juventus, in particular, is reportedly one of Osimhen’s preferred destinations, alongside a potential move to England.
With the season nearing its climax, all eyes will be on the striker’s next move as Galatasaray prepare to battle financially and emotionally to keep their star man in Istanbul.
