Graphic: Gunmen attack Benue communities, kill at least 24 persons
An unidentified armed gang has carried out a brutal attack on Adogo Ugbaam, Akpuuna, and Diom communities in Ukum Local Government Area of Benue State, resulting in the tragic deaths of at least 27 individuals.
The assault inflicted severe injuries on several others. The armed men initiated the violence on Friday night during a funeral in Adogo Ugbaam community, claiming the lives of three mourners. Subsequently, on Saturday morning around 11 a.m., another group attacked Akpuuna and Diom communities, leading to the merciless killings of 24 individuals.

According to an anonymous source, the armed assailants, riding motorcycles, launched the attacks without a clear motive. They targeted Adogo Ugbaam village around 9 p.m., then proceeded to invade Akpuuna and Diom on Saturday morning when the local market bustled with daily activities.
