Group endorses PDP’s Ighodalo-Ogie ticket for Edo governorship race
The socio-cultural group Edo Vanguard for Development (EV4D) has thrown its support behind the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidates, Asue Ighodalo and Osarodion Ogie, for the upcoming Edo State governorship election on September 21.
Known for its advocacy of good governance, accountability, and the rule of law, EV4D announced its endorsement following extensive consultations with members across the state and a rigorous evaluation of the candidates’ qualifications
Chief Victor Akhigbe, the group’s coordinator, emphasized that Ighodalo’s experience in both private and public sectors, coupled with his international exposure, intellectual prowess, and unblemished service record, made him the best choice for Edo’s future.

Akhigbe noted that Ighodalo’s leadership would bring about significant development in the state, particularly in quality education, healthcare, industrialization, and youth and women empowerment.
Highlighting Ighodalo’s accomplishments as the former Chairman of the Nigerian Economic Summit Group (NESG) and his board roles in several multinational organizations, EV4D believes that his governance would drive wealth creation and sustainable development in Edo State.
The group also acknowledged Governor Godwin Obaseki’s achievements, particularly in reforming governance processes, but expressed confidence that Ighodalo has the clout to further leverage technology to attract investments and accelerate infrastructure development.
EV4D also called on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and security agencies to ensure a fair, open, and just election, urging them to create an environment where voters can freely cast their ballots without fear of intimidation or harassment.
