Gunmen abduct Baptist pastor, demand N60m ransom
Gunmen have abducted the Pastor in Charge of Shiyona Baptist Church, Reverend Yohanna Gyang Bitrus in Ugwan Saye in Yakila community in Tegina, Rafi Local Government area of Niger State.
According to sources, the gunmen stormed the community and went directly to the Pastor’s house and took him away at about 2pm on Thursday.
It was learnt that the gunmen did not enter any other house in the community although they were shooting sporadically to scare people away.
Few hours after the pastor was abducted, a Source close to the family said that the Abductors had gotten in touch with the family to demand for N60 million for the release of the Pastor.
A source who is close to the family said that the family is at their wits end as they do not know how to raise that amount of money to secure the release of the abducted Pastor.
When contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Wasiu Abiodun said he will get back to the reporter when he gets details about the incident.
