Gunmen ambush Army patrol team, kill soldier
Gunmen were reported to have ambushed a patrol van of the Nigerian Army in Benin City, Edo State, killing one soldier.

The gunmen had targeted their victims, who were said to comprise four security operatives, being conveyed in a military van moving in the direction of Ikpoba-Hill, an exit axis of the city.

The gunmen were said to have struck at about 2.00pm on Wednesday at First Junction along Akpakpava Road.
Meanwhile, there has been no official statement from the state on the incident.
