Borussia Dortmund FC coach, Marco Rose has not ruled out the possibility of top striker, Erling Haaland staying on beyond the end of the 2021/2022 season.
The 21-year-old Norway star still has a contract with the German Cup winners until June 30, 2024, but media reports say it includes an exit clause for 2022.
Big European clubs are seeking Haaland’s services as the forward continued to score goals.
“He still has a long-term contract with us. Just because there is permanent talk that he will leave next July, that doesn’t necessarily have to be the case,” Rose told Sport Bild on Wednesday.
“Erling must also decide for himself in the end where he sees his future. In any case, we are happy that he is currently playing with us.
“Who knows, possibly more than just one season if we write some extraordinary history here.”
Sporting director, Michael Zorc made it clear the striker, bought from RB Salzburg in January 2020, would not be sold anytime soon.
“He will definitely stay this season. What’s after that, we don’t know yet,” Zorc told TV station Sat.1 before the 3-1 defeat by Bayern Munich in Tuesday’s German Super Cup.
