Harry Kane struggles as Spain emerges European champion
England have been left heartbroken again after Mikel Oyarzabal earned Spain another European title with four minutes left of a gripping final in which neither side hit top gear.
After a cagey first half, Spain broke the deadlock, hitting the net in the 47th minute of play. Lamine Yamal teed up Nico Williams inside the box and he rolled the ball into the bottom right corner and past Jordan Pickford to make it 1-0.
Two minutes, ambitious effort from Dani Olmo. He found himself in a great position after collecting a precise pass inside the penalty area and went for goal, but it never troubled the goalkeeper and flew well wide of the right post.
In the 54th minute, Nico Williams collected a pass and managed to hold off the defender, then rifled in a shot from mid-range which unluckily swerved inches past the left post.

In the 64th minute, Jude Bellingham skipped perfectly past challenges but misdirected his shot from the edge of the box. The ball flew a few yards wide of the left post.
Two minutes later, Yamal received a pass inside the box, controlled the ball and drilled it towards the left post. Unfortunately for him, Jordan Pickford made a great save to stop his effort.
In the 70th minute, Spain’s Fabian Ruiz side stepped a tackle after receiving a pass, advanced then hit a booming shot from mid-range which only rose at the last second to fly just over the bar.
England equalised three minutes later the Cole Palmer. Jude Bellingham found Palmer with a clever pass. He stepped inside his man on the edge of the box and whipped a tremendous shot into the bottom left corner to make it 1-1.
Spain took the lead again in the 86th minute. Marc Cucurella was the provider as he slipped the ball to Oyarzabal who simply steered it home from close range to make it 2-1.
