Highly-rated Arsenal youngster tipped to leave for free transfer
Arsenal are facing a battle to keep hold of highly-rated youngster Arthur Okonkwo this summer with both Celtic and Bundesliga side RB Leipzig considering moves, National Daily gathered.
The Daily Record claims that the Arsenal youngster is currently in the middle of a contract stand-off with the Premier League side and he could depart the club this summer.
The 16-year-old has reportedly been offered a scholarship alongside a professional contract, ready when he turns 17, but the Gunners could face a battle to keep him at the Emirates beyond the end of the season.
The player, who has trained with the club’s first-team squad on several occasions this season, wants to stay at the club but could be forced to leave due to the club’s contract policy.
Okonkwo is widely regarded as one of the club’s best youngsters. The report goes as far as saying the Gunners believe he could make the first-team squad in the future.
The England U-17 international stands at an impressive 6ft 5in at the tender age of 16 and is now attracting the interest of clubs elsewhere.
