I am contesting to end poor representation of Maiduguri people – Nyako
Ms Aisha Nyako, contesting for Maiduguri Metropolitan Council Assembly seat under Young Progressives Party (YPP), said her desire is to ensure quality representation for the people of the metropolis.
Nyako, who spoke to the News Agency of Nigeria at the flagging-off of her campaign in Maiduguri, said people of the cosmopolitan constituency deserve a change and that she represents that change as a woman with the needed exposure.
Nyako lauded residents of the metropolis who came out to listen to her and urged them to reach out to others on her potentials to make a difference.
“I wish to extend my heartfelt appreciation to the good people of Maiduguri Metropolitan Council (MMC) for the turnout, support, and encouragement during the flag-off of my campaign.
“Indeed, I felt honoured and touched by the faces of personalities, men, women, and children who rally round us in support of my candidature.
“I want to assure all the good people of MMC that we have come to chase failure and restore competence and sanity in our system,” Nyako said.
She listed Girl-Child education, maternal health, skills acquisition, hygiene, education, including upgrading the almajiri system, as some of her priority areas if elected.
“It’s high time the electorates try a woman for a change and fresh idea,” Nyako said.
