Inferno from petrol tanker explosion burns 10 to death, razes three vehicles on Lagos-Ibadan Expressway
Inferno from the explosion of a petrol tanker on Thursday morning at Sagamu axis of the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway burns 10 persons to death, including three vehicles.
Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps in Ogun State, Ahmed Umar, disclosed that two tankers, one flatbed trailer, and one car were involved in the explosion that occurred around 1.00am on Thursday, affirming that three vehicles were burnt in the inferno.
The Sector Commander further disclosed that while 12 persons were involved in the inferno, 10 persons were burnt to death, indicating that two occupants of the vehicles escaped.
The accident caused gridlock along the road in the early hours of the day.
