Insecurity: Bandits kidnap Zamfara Emir in Kaduna
Despite the military onslaught to tame the insecurity in the northwest, bandits are not giving up on their violent trade. A gang of bandits on Tuesday evening kidnapped the Emir of Bungudu, Zamfara State, His Royal Highness Hassan Attahiru, who was traveling along Kaduna–Abuja expressway.
The bandits were said to have killed one of the police escorts while they engaged in exchange of gunfire to prevent the operation.
The Emir, identified as a first-class traditional ruler, was said to be the only victim kidnapped in the convoy, though, some of his guards were said to have sustained injuries in the incident
The traditional ruler, Hassan Attahiru, was identified as the Paramount ruler of Bungudu emirate in Zamfara State.
