Insecurity escalates in northern Nigeria, bandits invade Igabi in Kaduna, kill four
The perennial insecurity in northwest Nigeria has continued to escalate without restraint. Bandits successfully carried out attack in communities, kill and loot from day to day with ease.
Bandits struck in several communities in Igabi and Kajuru local government areas of Kaduna State, sending about four people to their early graves in the attacks.
The Kaduna State Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Samuel Aruwan, had narrated that bandits invaded Nasarawa Kalgo community on the outskirts of Jaji, Rigachikun district in Igabi Local Government Area, killing a resident, Harrisu Ibrahim and injuring others.
It was farther narrated that another gang of bandits attacked the Kujama area of Chikun local government area but were repelled by local vigilantes.
The bandits were said to have attacked Janwuriya village in Kajuru local government area, while they were fleeing from locals to their hideouts, killing two brothers, Nuhu Ishaya and Yakubu Ishaya.
Moreover, bandits in another operation had invaded Maraban Kajuru in Kajuru local government area, killed one resident, Samiru Na Ya’u.
Aruwan in a statement indicated that Governor Nasir El-Rufai, expressing sadness over the incidents, prayed for the repose of the souls of the slain. The governor sent his condolences to their families.
The Governor demanded the security agencies to conduct diligent investigations into the incidents.
