Jerry Gana congratulates Wike on achievements, says projects him as Nigeria’s future leader
A member of the Board of Trustees (BoT) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDDP), Professor Jerry Gana, on Friday congratulated Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State on his achievements in project development in Rivers, project the Rivers governor as potential president in the country.
Professor Gana, commending Wike for his “sustained emphasis on development projects”, asserted that such quality makes the Rivers governor a prospect for Nigeria’s presidency.
Prof. Gana at the flag-off of a flyover in Obio/Akpor, declared: “Your sustained emphasis on development projects has shown clearly that good governance is possible through good leadership. You have demonstrated the power of good leadership in delivering development projects to the people of Rivers State.
“Please, accept our congratulations on this kind of good leadership that performs. You have a bright future. I am not a prophet but you have a bright future. If some people have disappointed you this time around, don’t worry, your future is bright. Age is on your side. You will preside over Nigeria someday.”
Professor Gana maintained that for Rivers State residents to continue enjoying such “good leadership”, they have to queue behind the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate. Siminialayi Fubara, in the 2023 general elections.
“Let me now ask the good people of Rivers State – very wonderful people – to ensure that in the forthcoming elections you vote massively for the candidate of our party who is being supported by this performing governor so that they will be continuity; so that the good things he is doing here can be continued by the next set of people that are going to govern this place,” he told the gathering.
“Don’t make the mistake of throwing away your votes to another party. The PDP will never let you down. We shall do well, excel, perform, and be trustworthy. So, we plead with you in the forthcoming election to ensure that the candidates of our party are supported and elected,” {rof Gana said.
The PDP BoT member also told Governor Wike not to be disappointed over the loss of the PDP presidential ricket to former Vice President Atiku Abubakar at the party’s presidential primaries.
“Therefore, we want you to stay firm, stay within the PDP, and never waiver because so many people outside Rivers State are looking up to you,” Gana said.
