Jibrin banished from House till 2017
For the next 180 legislative days, Hon Abdulmumin Jibrin, former chairman of the House appropriation committee, will cease to be a lawmaker.
The House of Representatives handed down the suspension Wednesday following his refusal to turn up at the public hearing he sought wuth the House committee on ethic s and privileges investigating allegations of abuse levelled at him.
This House adopted the report of the committee on Ethics and Privileges which investigated allegations of breach of privileges of the House and its members.

Hon. Nicolas Ossai, chairman of the Ethics Committee, presented the committee’s findings and recommendations, which found all the allegations against Jibrin to be true.
The Kano federal lawmaker was also directed to tender a written apology to the House.
He will not hold any position of responsibility in the House for the rest of the eighth National Assembly.
