Ace broadcaster, Babajide Kolade Otitoju, has reacted to numerous calls for the former president Goodluck Ebele Jonathan to join the race for the 2023 general elections. On Television Continental (TVC) flagship program, Journalist Hangout, monitored on Friday, 22 of April; he said that Nigerians had quickly forgotten how they rejected Jonathan for Buhari in 2015.

Speaking further, he noted that Nigerians were honestly given up on the present administration. He narrated an incident that happened in Sokoto state when former President, Goodluck Jonathan, went to pay a visit to the Sultan. He said many locals were at the gate of the Sultan’s palace chanting that they wanted Jonathan back as president, regretting voting him out in the first place.

However, he revealed a stunning detail about how some APC bigwigs had approacched the former president to come and contest on the bill of APC, insisting that he was aware of this. He dared Jonathan to deny it if it is not true.

Not ruling out the possibility of this happening, he noted that the only thing that could make this happen is if Jonathan could be assured of being the consensus candidate of the APC. He believed this could be a far fetched possiblity.

In a related development, the premiumtimes.com has reported that a group, CNDP, asked Dr. Goodluck Jonathan to dump his party, PDP, and join forces with President Muhammadu Buhari in the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC). This call is coming amid speculations that the Former President is nursing another presidential ambition.

In a massive campaign that painted the Jonathan-led administration as corrupt and clueless, many Nigerians opted for Buhari, believing he could deliver on security and economy.

However, since assumption of office, the APC has consistently blamed Dr Goodluck Jonathan and the PDP for its seeming inability to deliver on its promises to Nigerians.
