Jonathan, West African leaders hold peace meeting with Atiku, Tinubu, Obi, Kwankwaso
Former President Goodluck Jonathan, leading members of the West African Elders’ Forum, on Tuesday held peace meeting with top four presidential candidates in the Saturday elections, Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Bola Tinubu of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Peter Obi of the Labour Party (LP), and Rabiu Kwamkwaso of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP).
National Daily gathered that leaders from the West African sub-region in the team led by former President Jonathan, include former President John Mahama of Ghana, former President Boni Yayi of Benin Republic, former President Ernest Koroma of Sierra Leone, and former President Uhuru Kenyatta of Kenya, etc.
They deliberated on the need to conclude the 2023 general elections in Nigeria peacefully in the interest of the country. More importantly, the candidates were counselled on the need to accept the outcome, or if dissatisfied, go to court to seek redress but eschew from violence
