Kano approves N854m for mass wedding, N700m for BUK students’ fees, others
The Kano State Executive Council has approved the release of N854 million for the conduct of a mass wedding for 7,000 couples, as well as N700 million for the payment of tuition fees for students of Bayero University Kano (BUK).
The approval was given at the council’s meeting on Wednesday, August 24, 2023, which was presided over by Governor Abdullahi Ganduje.
The Commissioner for Information, Muhammad Garba, who made the announcement in a statement, said that the mass wedding will be held in December 2023.

He said that the council also approved the release of N100 million for the payment of scholarship allowances to students of the state’s tertiary institutions.
The council also approved the release of N50 million for the construction of a new skills acquisition centre in Dawakin Tofa Local Government Area.
